              Yoga Studio Etiquette

                Keep
                  smiling! It's
only yoga after all and there's always tomorrow! Our aim
is to provide everyone with the best possible opportunity to
enjoy their yoga practice.Help us to help you by observing the following:
 BEFORE CLASS
               Drink plenty
of water throughout the day. Hydration is very important.
  For most,
it is best not to eat, take medications or drink caffeine at least
                2 hours before class.

at reception before class - even if you booked online or we know
                you by name!

  Let the
teacher know of any injuries or concerns you have before the start
                of class.

  Leave your
                footwear in the cubbyholes.

  Have clean
                feet.

  Be perfume
                free.

  Turn off
                or mute your cell phone.
  Ask questions
about the practice [before or after] class.
 DURING
              CLASS
               Please only
bring your mat, towel, water bottle into the yoga room. All other
personal items [including cell phones] should be left in reception
                or the changing room.

  Make sure
the middle of your mat is placed on a line on the floor. Avoid
the front row until you are really familiar with the postures
as you lead the class energy.

  Refrain
from talking in the yoga room.

  Try to stay
in the room. This is really important. The heat can be a big challenge
for a lot of people, especially at the beginning of their practice.
Don't run away from it. Allow your body to acclimate to the heat.
This might mean not pushing yourself too hard or sitting out a
few postures. You have a lifetime of yoga ahead of you, so don't
try and squeeze all your ambition into one class. Pace yourself
and you will do just fine! If you have to leave, try not to disturb
                your fellow yogis.

  The teacher
will indicate the best points during class for everyone to take
water breaks. Otherwise, please do so in-between postures as to
                not disturb your fellow practitioners.

  Please refrain
from wiping away your sweat throughout the class. This is your
body's way of helping to keep you cool. And the more you wipe,
                the more you will sweat!

  Refrain
                eating or chewing gum.

  Practice
stillness between postures, breathing in and out through the nose.

  Listen to
your teachers. They will be able to correct your postures, guide
your thinking and keep you positioned on the right part of your
                mat for your practice.

  Follow the
class sequencing to the best of your ability. Please do not substitute
postures unless instructed as a modification by the teacher. If
there are postures you like that are not a part of the series/class,
please take the time before or after class to work on your personal
                practice.

  Focus on
                yourself in the mirror.

  When lying
down, make sure your head is at the top of your mat with your
                feet facing the back wall.

  Most importantly,
remember to smile! After all, it's only yoga - and it looks good
to smile. When you look good, you feel good!
 AFTER CLASS
               Observe
silence at the end of class.

  This is
a good time to work on postures not practiced in class.

  Please leave
                the room quietly.

  Place rented
mats and towels in the baskets outside the room.

  If you bring
your own mat, please keep it clean and smelling good. We have
mat spray for you to use. Allow the mat to dry before rolling
up. If you have any questions about mat care and cleaning, please
                ask.

  Enjoy the
peace and energy you've created from class.

  Come back
tomorrow - We look forward to seeing you!
